THE JOURNEY SO FAR — WOMEN’S ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Women’s empowerment is not only about income. It is about dignity, choice, confidence and the ability to contribute to decisions that shape a family and community. Our initiatives have focused on practical pathways that help rural women turn skills and determination into greater economic independence.

Skills for Sustainable Livelihoods

Skill-based programs have helped women strengthen practical abilities that can be converted into income. The focus is on accessible forms of work that can be developed around family responsibilities and local circumstances.

Sewing Machines and Enterprise Tools

Where a woman already has a skill but lacks the equipment to use it, a suitable tool can become the beginning of a livelihood. Sewing machines and other enterprise resources have supported women to produce, earn and contribute to household stability.

Support for Home-Based Businesses

Home-based enterprise can provide a realistic pathway for women whose mobility, caring duties or local circumstances limit conventional employment. We have supported women to take early steps toward small-scale, self-directed income generation.

Mentoring and Practical Guidance

Tools alone are not enough. Encouragement, planning and continued guidance help women build confidence, solve practical problems and move from receiving support to managing an income-generating activity with greater independence.

Awareness, Confidence and Voice

Our wider engagement with women has encouraged participation, awareness and confidence. Creating spaces where women can learn, share experiences and be heard is an important part of building economic and personal agency.

Strengthening Families and Communities

When a woman earns an income and gains confidence in her own abilities, the benefit extends beyond one individual. Children’s needs are better supported, households become more resilient and women are better placed to participate in family and community decisions.

Women’s Empowerment Impact

Our women’s empowerment work has supported pathways toward self-employment through skills, sewing machines, enterprise tools, home-based business assistance and ongoing guidance. As project records are consolidated, verified figures and short participant stories should be added to demonstrate both economic and personal change.
